Ingredients
- 2 3/4 cup milk (2% or whole)
- 1 cup water
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 1 12 oz box elbow macaroni
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1/8 tsp pepper
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp onion powder
- 3/4 cup grated gruyere
- 3/4 cup grated cheddar

Instructions

1Bring 2 cups milk, the water, and 1/2 tsp salt to a boil over medium-high heat.

2Stir in the macaroni and reduce heat to medium-low / simmer.

3Cook uncovered for 5 minutes or until pasta is just al dente. Stir frequently.

4Remove from heat and stir in the butter, 1/4 tsp salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder.

5Alternate adding handfuls of cheese with update 3/4 cup additional milk until the sauce is smooth.
