One-skillet Italian Sausage Pasta

A simple recipe for pasta with tomatoes and sauce with sausage

Ingredients

  • Italian Pork Sausage → 3/4 pound
  • Diced Tomatoes (w/Basil, Garlic & Oregano, undrained) → 1 can (14.5 oz each)
  • Tomato Sauce → 1 cup
  • Penne Pasta → 8 ounces dry, uncooked
  • Parmesan Cheese, grated (optional) → 1/4 cup
  • Water → 1-1/4 cups

Instructions

    Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add sausage; cook for 5 minutes, breaking apart with a spoon to crumble. Drain; return to skillet.

    Add water, undrained tomatoes, tomato sauce and pasta to the skillet; stir to combine. Bring to a boil. Cover; reduce heat and cook for 15 minutes or until pasta is tender.

    Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Serve with additional Parmesan cheese, if desired.
