Crescent Roll Taco Casserole

A taco casserole with a crescent roll base

Ingredients

  • 1-2 Cans of crescent rolls, Dough, 8 Rolls, 8 oz (Can use just one or get two and cover the whole casserole pan)
  • 1lb of hamburger meat, any % (I use leaner usually, but up to you)
  • Taco seasoning for 1lb of hamburger meat
  • 1 white onion, diced
  • 1 Jalapeño (optional), diced
  • 1 cup-ish of shredded cheese (I usually use a blended one of Monterey Jack, cheddar, etc)
  • Crushed Fritos (optional)
  • Lettuce (optional topping)
  • Diced tomatoes (optional topping)
  • A stick of butter for greasing the casserole pan
  • ## ## ## Cookware
  • casserole pan (11x15 ish)
  • Skillet for browning hamburger meat

    Dice all your vegetables except for the tomatoes (they're a topping)

    Grease the casserole pan with butter

    Preheat oven to 375
  6. 6
    Line with the crescent roll dough sheets. Can use one can and get the base, or have it go up a bit on the edges for more of a crust

    Brown the hamburger meat. When starting to brown, add in the Onion and Jalapeno to cook along with it

    Add in the taco seasoning and a 3/4ths of a cup of water
  9. 9
    Bring to a boil and let a lot of the liquid cook off

    Add the meat and cooked vegetables to the top of the crescent roll pan

    Put in the oven and cook for about 8 mins

    Take out and add cheese to melt, and crushed Fritos on top

    Put back in for 5ish minutes till you see the crescent roll dough is brown

    Serve with toppings and enjoy!
