Dog Porridge

Finnish: “Yrjölä’s Porridge”] developed during the 1950s by J.A.U Yrjölä, a judge, a former Chairman of Finnish Kennel Club’s Board of Directors and a chairman of Suomen Rottweileryhdistys ry.

Ingredients
- 1 litre of water
- 1 ts of salt
- 1 dL of powdered milk
- ½ dL short-grain rice (eg. sushi rice, Arborio, or Nordic pudding rice)
- ½ dl whole pearl barley
- ½ dL whole millet groats
- ½ dL whole buckwheat groats (eg. kasha)
- 300 – 500 g ground pork and beef
- 2 — 3 carrots, grated

Instructions

1Grease the baking pan with margarine

2Add a litre of water to the pan

3Add salt and powdered milk

4Add rice, grains, ground meat and grated carrots

5Mix the ingredients in the pan

6Place the pan in the oven and bake at 200°C for 1 ½ to 2 hours

7Cool the porridge and place them aside in containers as single-serving portions

8Freeze for later
