Instructions
-
1Thaw the puff pastry if you haven't already; it takes about 20-30 minutes.
-
2Thinly slice the apples, place in a bowl with the lemon juice and a little water, and microwave about 3 minutes to soften slightly (or simmer the slices in a small pan on the stove).
-
3In a bowl, combine 3 tablespoons apricot preserve with 2 tablespoons water and microwave about 1 minute so it spreads easily.
-
4Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface and cut into strips. Spread the preserve over the dough.
-
5Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Drain the apples.
-
6Arrange overlapping apple slices along the top half of each dough strip. Sprinkle with cinnamon if desired.
-
7Fold the bottom half of the dough up over the apples.
-
8Carefully roll up each strip, seal the edge, and place in a silicone muffin cup (grease the cups if not using silicone).
-
9Repeat for all 6 roses. Bake at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for about 40-45 minutes, until fully cooked through. If the apples look done after 30 minutes, move the pan to a lower rack and bake 10-15 minutes more so the pastry cooks through.
-
10Dust with powdered sugar and serve.
