Ingredients
- 10 tbsp (1 1/4 sticks) unsalted butter
- 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs, cold
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup chocolate chunks or walnuts

Instructions

1Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C).

2Line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides.

3In a heatproof bowl set over simmering water (or in the microwave), melt the butter with sugar, cocoa powder, and salt.

4Stir until warm and smooth.

5Remove from heat and let cool slightly until warm (not hot).

6Stir in the vanilla extract.

7Add the eggs one at a time, stirring vigorously after each until the batter looks shiny and well blended.
