Ingredients
- 1 lb Smoked sausage or Polish kielbasa, sliced into rounds
- 1 medium head Green cabbage, cored and chopped into bite-sized pieces
- 1 medium Yellow onion, sliced thin
- 2 tbsp Butter or vegetable oil
- 1 tbsp Apple cider vinegar
- 1 tsp Garlic powder
- To taste Salt and cracked black pepper

Instructions

1Place a large, deep skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

2Add the sliced sausage rounds and brown them for roughly 5 minutes, turning occasionally until crisp on the edges.

3Remove the sausage from the skillet with a slotted spoon and set aside on a plate, leaving the rendered smoky fat inside the pan.

4Turn heat down to medium, melt the butter into the hot pan fat, and add the onions and chopped cabbage.

5Sauté the cabbage and onions for 12-15 minutes, stirring frequently.

6The cabbage will shrink significantly and begin to brown and caramelize.

7Stir the cooked sausage back into the cabbage.

8Add the apple cider vinegar , garlic powder , salt, and pepper . Toss well and cook 2 more minutes until heated through.
